Excellent! The pictures are wonderful! One thing that I may have overlooked, but you didn't list the price for the headers. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

I will estimate 10-15 Hp/ TRQ Though it may be more. If anyone gets these, please get dynoed I'd like to see just how much they do pick up.

$175 plus ups S&H go to site listed in the above post, it has the info there.

Hey Mark, I'm sure the guys on the board owe you one. You just got a full order of collectors paid for. I will order them tomarrow mourning(I said they had 3 sets) So there are no sets available. with this first order of collectors.

Mark wanted to fund the EPA Nazi testing, so I am sending 1 to My91, 1 to Mark, and 1 to the Nazis'. Hopefully in less then 2 weeks I will have the positive results and a CARB# to prove it!.

When I call about this first 3 sets, I will ask how long I will have to wait for say 3-4 more sets? and post it here. I imagine Mark is not gonna wait too long before installing them, so I will let his results fuel the fire.
The good thing about living in Illinois, is your in the middle of the country, S&H is less no matter where you go to. IE Mark's to PA was $16 and change....

I must say I took it for a short drive yesterday, and BOY DID IT REV... Not much torque, as no exhaust what so ever, but man it hit 5K in a heartbeat(even on pavement). I do not know what threw more dirt, the open headers or the tires!.LOL

I have a couple of quick questions...as I posted earlier (on another topic) I am interested in getting them if you can make a Y pipe unless it will match up to mine.

What exactly does EGR do? Do i really need it? If I have it now, can I eliminate it? SHould I?

I read the webpage and it was very helpful, but just to make sure... is there anything else I will need besides gaskets and bolts?

I have done basic stuff, like starter and alternator removal, spark plugs and oil change, thermostat, etc...Do I have enough mechanical experience to do this myself? Can I do it in one day?

Thank you so much for making these, my manifold has a crack/ hole in it, so I have to do something about that anyway. That gives me a good excuse to tell dad why I bought these (after I get them of course).

Should you eliminate the EGR. No. It improves MPG and maybe even power.

As far as I can tell I pretty much listed everything that you need on that page. The instructions may not be in the best order, but everything is pretty much there

You should be able to yes. What took me so long, was fighting with the Hedmans I have/had. These should take minutes to get bolted in once the old stuff is outta the way.

Right now I cannot make a "Y" pipe, thats why i said if Icould get/had the die then I probly could.

To you others I am on the verge of a big score(and not just with the headers) I am going to a local shop tomarrow to make my "y" pipe. (notice I said "I" was gonna make it) The guy has a pretty nice hydraulic beast(he's had it for years and never really done anything that I know of with it) so I am gonna ask(after I make my pipe, would he care to sell it. I know he got it for $1500, and he's had it atleast 3-4 years, so if he says no, then in a couple/3 weeks after I get some $$$ I will go back and offer him$1K-$1200 with the cash in hand.... (thats ALWAYS the way to get someone to sell you something)
It's one of those that Midas uses to do their custom exhaust stuff. It even has a Swagger/Expander on the end, and if I get it I can eventually MAKE MY OWN COLLECTORS with the Swag end.

on another note, I was bored today so I made 12 more flanges so... Tomarrow, after the "Y" pipe, and I get more flat steel I will make up the EGR mounts. And hopefully I will have good news about that bender.

Yeah I need to go back into my page and change the prices.

The EGR stuff will be on ALL headers, UNLESS you request otherwise. Dead did not want it so his were different.

they HAVE the 2" NOT the 2 1/2"
Prices as follows....
$150 Through PayPal WITHOUT PAYING WITH CREDIT CARD
$159 THROUGH PAYPAL VIA CREDIT CARD.
S&H get that at... http://wwwapps.ups.com/servlet/QCCSe...iso_country=US

Weight. Approx 30 Lbs.
Box Size 14X14X10
Origin ZIP 62999 or Zeigler, Illinois
yes its a residential address
On next page...
Drop off, Customer Service counter
Deliever to Home address.

Typically they should NOT go over $20-25 for S&H, as I am damn near in the middle of the country, Southern Illinois.

Actually that bender has, everything from 1.25-2.75 just about

I will get it when I can sell about 18-19 more(I know earlier I said 15) but I also need to build the garage to put it in!.

The cost would depend on supplies. How thick is the tubing on those things? if I remember correctly the flange is 1/2"?(THAT would be a prob finding locally) And do they make it in something other then S/S so I could get one to copy? If not whats the damage on it?....

One more question from me....

Would it be possible to run a glass pack off of eac header? I know it would probably sound like crap, but it would be easy, cheap, and could possibly sound real mean.

Besides exhaust fumes getting sucked up in my A/C vents (which I dont really care about since that crack in my manifold is giving me plenty already), would there be any drawbacks to this?

Possible? Yes. Cheap? Yes. Sound like crap? Yes. (trust me I have heard my car run off of straight headers more then once, it sounds like crap)

Well I would tell you to fab some kind of tube to tie the two collectors togeather, then put 1 glass pack and turn down, that actually might sound OK, and you will not loose so much Hp/Trq.
I am on AIM right now if you wanna chat. RScamaroturbo or Yahoo generationxracing

well the payment came through on these so they are getting sent to the buyer. The CARB ones will be 1 or 2 that are reserved whrn the collectors arrive.

I guess were not sticky anymore. If this header info is lost then all future V6 guys are screwed and will never know that anyone sells headers for our 60* V6's.

I make sure and Repost this everyday if I have to

Well I've been off the board for a month now. Computer HD failure, work, the cars forsale, so interest was lost for a moment.

But CHD your doing a great job. As soon as my car is sold I am going to look at an 86 2.8 Camaro, so I can stay in the v-6 family I think, who knows maybe I will get a set of these headers, there looking awsome.

Maybe this will give more insentive to build up the V-6.
Once again good job CHD, your patients with our nagging and still delivering us an awsome product is outstanding.

question: Will these clear the PH52 filter or the standard one? might sell the turbo & 3.4 y-pipe & get these. probably cheaper in the long run.

You could always buy a remote filter mount if only the PF47 (the short filter) has clearance. Everyone here (82-92 2.8/3.1) should be using those larger PF52's instead... they're what, 50 cents more, for double the filtration area?

trust me he needs the business.....

He needs people to group up for a purchase or some thing ...its a really complicated deal to make the headers ..more than that people need to understand that its really hard labour and (initial costs were just too high ...its hard to get a perfect design on the first try.....)

people have to group up ...and order some i guess so that he can get his bender ..the new one ...

I will be having 8 headers available soon(I should be getting the collectors in about 10-14 days now). Those in Cali(After I get the Carb #) Email me.

I am not gonna get the other bender, honestly I cannot see the point to get it. I am not gonna spend another 2K on this project(I have spent enough to get nothing IMO), and I cannot see spending that with things going as they are.

I can now honestly see why no one has bothered to do this now, theres alot of talk, but no action. I will hold the 8 headers I will have availble after I get the CARB# for the guys in Cali. The rest, sorry you had your chance. I am hoping (at the very least) to make my money back with these 8.

My 91 I am gonna yank the headers off my car and send them to ya, I cannot get an exhaust shop around here to do want I want with the "Y" Pipe. I will try to get it off today.

WWasem, you got yours coming when the collectors arrive, Afreakingoodtime, you got a set set aside too, so I quess that really only leaves 7 for the rest in Cali. If there are any left after the ones in 'Cali get theres, then first come first serve.
I really hope you all did not think I was joking when I said a while ago I would be more then happy to drop this like the bad habit/waste of money it has become to me. Cause now quess what, its dropped. I had these ready for over what 2 months now? since I sent DeadHero8 his pair? and I have had what 4 people?(including Dead) take this seriously and support it. So to those that did support it are getting taken care of, the rest?, well be glad I ordered as many collectors as I did.

Have fun tring to get someone else to waste their time and money.

CHC, I can honestly understand all you have gone though. One of the top reasons I came to you for the headers is heck you can't buy them anywhere else!!! Also my parents told me of how hard it is to do what you are doing. My parents (mostly my dad) used to be into this kind of work as a hobby before I was born. He metalized and fab'd headers for Sunbeam Tigers, for those of you who are familiar with older cars. He told me it takes a lot of skill, and know-how to do such things as you have done.

He couldn't believe that there's still people out there that put their time, money, and heart into doing things for the benefit of others. He, as well as I gives you much credit for the project of which you've taken upon your shoulders.

There's not much else I can say besides for all those who just "talked-the-talk" you're gonna be posting on the boards "where can I find headers for my car?" then you'll think back and remember that one guy who went out on a limb for all of us devoted enthusiasts. There won't be any aftermarket company that will pick up making headers for our cars! And can you even beat the price for them?? Aftermarket headers normally are expensive as sh*t!

I'm not flaming anyone or anything. And I apologize if I sound like I'm venting, but he truly did do this for us all, and on his own free will, thinking everyone was behind him in his endeavor. I'm just not sure if people realize all that CHC has gone through to do something that he thought everyone wanted... (or at least used to )

If not whats the damage on it?....

the specs I found on the racingbeat version of the header
the tubing is .125" thick mild steel OD should be at 2" (as pointed out here http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16121) and you only have two pipes that go into one so should be fairly easy to make

the flange is .4375" thick steel plate (also quoted here http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16183)

only company I get get the stats on as far as what they use in the header.

I have a header you could use to make a design from only problem is I kinda need it on the car at the moment. though I am going to try to get a true dual header on my car and at that point I would be willing to let you use my tw into one header to make a copy

or if nothing else I can still get the specs on sizing and bending for the header and work it from there.

To be perfectly honest, unless you can get guys to upfront the money for the headers(so I can get the bender) theres little to no chance. BUT if by some miracle you could?, well then YOU and your RX 7's are gonna be hummin.
I will look around and see what kind of prices I can get that .43 ect ect(1/2") plate for and that tubing too. Just leting ya know now I am sckeptical(after this last expericance). I will email you the info I get, along with some preliminary prices. Hopefully there will be more action on the import side.

I'm so diehard for these headers. I can't believe anyone with a car they are proud of would not want headers for it. Even if its just for the race-ready looks of them when you pop the hood.

I have appreciated your efforts from the getgo and admire your skills and patients in developing your own product. I will continue to support your efforts an will keep incouraging all to invest in them.

Most of all, you have my word of an IMMEDIATE SELL when you get the E.O.# for Calif.(You'll have my money in less than 24hrs).

Your loyal client, Dean

P.S.- word of these headers are what brought me to this 3rd gen. board in the first place. I've been looking for headers for this car for 5+ years so I can build up this little V6 without everyone telling me why am I wasting my time with that motor when noone make performance Headers for it. It will be b*tch*n to pop the hood and show off a fun little hotrod 6-banger. You don,t see that much, but when you do, the lightweight engines alway outhandle the v8's and it p*sses them off. I love being the underdog but then kicking ***.

CHC, you've got mail!

GUYS IF YOU DON'T ORDER HEADERS, OR AT LEAST LET CAMARO_HUNTER_C KNOW YOU INTERESTED YOU'LL NEVER HAVE A CHANCE TO EVER BULD A PERFORMANCE SIXTY DEGREE!!!!!!

Camaro_hunter_C, i think what is holding a lot of people back is that Carb# and the fact that you don't get the Y-pipe.

A lot of people want to "simply bolt-on" and drove off. The also want to know they can show the CARB # so they can pass emmsisions. I think once you get the Carb # a lot more people would be interested. Maybe enough to get the die so that you can make the y-pipe then even more bussiness.

That is how bussiness works, you got to to be strong, and ride the rough tides, cuase remember all of us that want to build performance v6s, including yourself, need to have headers to make a real performance car. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP MAN!

Later, your friend, Stu

I have to wait for the Carb#. They would useless to me with out one. Once you have the magic number I will buy a set!

Have you tried getting the word out on other boards (other then thridgen.org). Honestly there's not a whole lot of pepole here driving v6's that have the cash. Look at how many are just trying to keep the car running becuase they can't afford hotrod thier ride. Thridgen.org is not the only market. Just a thought.

Will there still be a set going to CARB? Like some others said, if I can't pass emissions with em, then I can't get em. Also any dyno results from anybody that had installed a set? Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, how do you go about getting a CARB #? I'm just thinking ahead in case I try and do this turbo thing that everyone seems so into right now. Thanks, Joe

The carb set willl get sent out after the ones that have been paid for have been sent out. But remember right now school is more importnat to me then sending the set to CARB.

Asfar as tring to apply for the # you make the part, send it to them will the required filled out forms and they test them. If they pass they send you a certificate.
