I would like to know what are the best tires for my 87 IROC camaro in Idaho? I heard some people say Falken but I also heard really bad things about them. Im in high school so cheaper would be better but I dont want to have to replace them in 6 months

I like my General Altimax HP and you can get around in some snow as well. I think I paid around 100 a tire from tire rack, not a bad deal. And since you mentioned it, usually cheaper tires last longer, but don't provide very good traction. If your looking for an all season most name brand tires you can't go wrong. People get confused though when it comes to winter tires - all seasons may cut it for a Chevy Cobalt, but in a high torque RWD car its probably better to have a set of dedicated winter rims and tires (tires specifically designed for temps lower than 40 degrees that will cut through snow and ice).

Camaro305SB is 100% correct. I live in Boise and here's a couple exeriences: I had some all season tires (Toyo proxes zx4) on my rear and my 305 rs was sliding all over the place. This winter I had summer tires (Toyo Proxes 4) on my B4C and went sideways just from letting off the brake at the intersection of Curtis and Emerald (fairly well traveled intersection in Boise) I didn't worry about it because I never see more than 4" of snow and that's usually only here for a couple days but I was late for school several times trying to get traction. This year I am definitely getting some snow tires (probably even studded) and mounting them on my RS wheels and then getting some sticky summer tires to enjoy the heat. You may be better off doing what I did in high school and get a beater to get you through winter $50 trucks always feel like you got your money's worth
