15x7 vs 16x8 Rims on 86 TA
Greetings,
Can anyone tell me the implications of changing from the stock 15x7 in rims to the mid-year offered 16x8 rims. Besides tire size differences will the larger rims create issues with tires rubbing on the wheel wells. Will the speedometer reflect the accurate speed. Should I hesitate in switching.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanksm

many people have done this swap, so as long as you use the factory size tire for the 16" wheel, you should be fine. A 16" tire with a 50 profile is the same height as a 15" tire with a 65. No change in the speedometer
Technically the rubber wheel stops are different on the cars with 16" wheels, but I don't think most people mess with changing them
