Hey Newbie, welcome to the site. Many good quality names are out there..Raybestos, Wagner, Power Slot, etc. You just have to look around a bit and shop for price.
I assume you have a stock, non-1LE car. As for rotors, Wagner and Raybestos will do. You can upgrade to slotted and drilled rotors, but for street I can't justify the expense. It's also a good idea, if your wallet can do it, to replace the calipers and brake hoses at the same time. They are often neglected and never replaced during brake jobs. Calipers and hoses will be about $15-20 each.
Pads seem to be key, gotta get some decent ones. I just got some EBC Greenstuff pads and they have a great reputation, but I have yet to install them. I used to run them on my Ninja and they were great. PFCMs are OK, I have them on my '93 4x4, but they have to get pretty hot before they really want to grip and slow that bad boy down.
Also, this site has an awesome "search" feature...it is your friend
I got 13 pages of stuff on "brake rotor"
Really, it just saves a lot of retyping, not busting your rocks. My opinion will be different than the next guy's, that's all. Enjoy the site, there's a lot of great knowledge in here!

well, i had done some research on this a lil while ago and most guys said that powerstop rotors are good, i would check out thunder racing and jcwhitney.com They both carry a good set of rotors, some which are cross drilled, and they are not too expensive from jcwhitney. Most guys say thwat the cross drilling does not do anything but i think it would have to be somewhat of an improvement over stock and anywayz, they look better  at jcwhitney i think they have stock rotors for about 30 or 40 bucks a pop, so def check it out
