Sylvania silverstars, almost as bright as HIDs just available in sealed beams.
I didn't feel safe at night with my yellow halogens either, these lights though expensive, (about 30 a piece) are honestly a 500% improvement.

I used halogen conversoins on my headlights. On my low beam outer lights I converted to HID bulbs (it was a birthday present, but I think they were sanyo's sp?). On the inner high beam lights, they are halgens (re-usable lens just like the low beams) I carefully scraped the paint off the tips of the bulbs. Next I upgraded all of my brake, turn, rev., and front turnsignals to led's from painless wireing. All and all I can see like it's daytime, my brake lights look red when I hit them, instead of orange. cost a bit but it was well worth it.

Get one of those hand held Q-beams and just aim into the rear view or side (good because no dimming) mirror...I'm sure if you did that a white flag (surrender) would come out fast. Childish maybe, priceless...yes
