please ..check my setup...please

i have an 89 iroc 350 with tbi,i was told to take off the tbi and carb it for more power, so here goes. I Bought a holley intake and holley 650 duel feed double pumper and a accell performance distributor.I can't tellyou my cam because i don't know, my 350 is a gm performance 350 crate moter.if any one has any suggestions please help, and tell me what kinda differcnece in speed i'm looking at.Also i have no cat and glasspacks i do however have the stock manifolds,is it truely important to put headers on .........thanks guys

Dont waste your time with shorty headers. If you are going to do it, do it right and get 1 3/4 in longtube headers, like the one's I have that are listed in my sig. They made a BIG difference with the stock motor and they are a necessity with my new motor. Just my $.02

1bad91z did you have enough room to put in longtubes what about your o2 sensor????????

I agree, but 1 5/8 is probably fine in a lot of cases. On performance motors, however, 1 3/4 is nice.

upgrades

get rid of the glass packs tooooooo restrictive and noisy. Recurve the timing to 34 to 36 degrees to come in at 3,000 rpm. Shorties are fine with a 3" y-pipe

You have to lift the motor about 6 in., feed them in through the top, then lower the motor back down with them. My o2 is now located in my Mufflex y-pipe (close to the driver side collector flange).
