header wrap?

I've been tempted to buy some header wrap to put on my headers to try and keep the underhood temp down, I have an open element filter and you can literally feel the loss of power after the engine compartment gets nice and toasty.
are they worth the money or should I save up for a ceramic coating. are they any potential problems with these? how hard are they to install?

Go with ceramic coating, I have heard people on hear talk about if the wrap isn't sealed correctly it can lead to corrosion, and even one person said oil dripped on it and cause a fire.

I've been thinking about getting heat wrap stuff for my headers too. My edlebrocks are already rusty so I'm not worried about the seal. Does anybody have experince with this stuff? are the sleeves easy enough to put on with the headers already installed?

I have seen some header wrap that wasn't in sleeve form, but more af an insulation wrap. You would just wrap it around the hheader tubes, it had an adhesive backing, so it's just like tape. This seems like it would keep the underhood temperatures down, and the headers would not need to be removed.

My friend had the wrap on his MR2. They collected oil and then caught on fire. Go with ceramic coating.
