New Head Problems

Hey, I just put new pocket ported heads on my 305. They have 1.94/1.50 valves and Z-28 springs and comp 1.6:1 ratio roller rocker arms. Well, it now seems the engine is bogging out. How could i adjust the timing or the carb which is an Edelbrock 600 cfm. Could the T.V. cable be loose or need adjusting..becuase the tranny doesnt shift like usual....but the problem is really off-idle to mid, then its all good. Thank you.

What's your timing set at? I usually run about 36@WOT. It sounds to me like your timing may be lazy and when you mash the throttle you don't have enough advance w/o the vaccum.

Also, if your TV cable isn't adjusted properly, It may be lugging the motor because it's not downshifting proper.

Hey Guys. I got the timing where it should be and I had the distributor recurved by a friend. The T.V. cable was readjusted and the car is running excellent. Thanks!
