I saw somehting in Summit called a throttle response swith. do these really work?

if you mean the thing that advances everything right before you mash the gas?I will say no,but it only what I think.There was a thread about this awhile back and most agreed.Spend your money on something else.

I agree with zee28, but u can just advance the timing like you would normally, and still get better throttle response with the extra $90 or whatever it costs going to something more useful (like premium gas )

I have one of those for the pre-91 harness if your interested. I'll sell it to you for half of what summit charges. I don't need it because I have enough mods.
