I was hoping somone could give me a report on this product. I was looking for a rust inhibitor to to undercoat my car. This is suppose to be comparable to POR15 but much more reasonable in price. Any help is appreciated.

 

Check the price out, it's not much cheaper than POR15. I don't think i've ever actually used it. I've only used Plasti-kote's Rust-not. It's not very special at all. Doesn't dry very hard, I can still scratch it with my finger (maybe didn't let it dry at a high enough tmep...)

However, zero-rusts preparation stuff, "prep-step" is great. It's a powder that you mix up and use as a pre-paint prep. It dissolves rust and etches the metal. That stuff is cheap and useful for many things, i'd recommend it.

I would like to know if anyone has used zero-rust on here though. I think it doesn't discolor like POR15 from sunlight.

 

There is quite a bit difference in price between zero-rust and POR15. A gallon of POR15 is over $100 and Zero-Rust is $42. If you can get POR15 for less let me know. Thanks for the input.

 

Huh, it was a lot more expensive when I looked IIRC. Maybe the shipping is what made it prohibitively expensive?? I couldn't find any locally I guess.
