I really don't think that you are going to find a shop that will modify a car for T-tops. Cutting away all that metal affects the structual integrity of the car. T-tops may look cool, but from past experience I can tell you some problems you have to deal with.
1-Leaks
2-Wind Noise
3-Constant Light/no shade
4-They can be a pain in the a$$ when removing/installing. They also take up a lot of space in the trunk
5-They are made of plexiglass, and after a while they get cloudy or get "wrinkles" in them....and a brand pair will cost you $1500

Even if you find a shop that will make the conversion....I promise you that it wont be cheap.

You are better off getting a sunroof installed or buying another car with them installed already.

I have ttps that were added to my car by this company called Cars & Concepts.
they are a PITA!!!
first of all the company went out of buisiness because someone went flying through the tops during an accident and sued.
so its impossible for me to get parts-- like my locks that fell out and dont work.
also they cut the roof completely out and my car used to flex like crazy when i went over bumps or even if my wheels were unbalanced.
and im not talking about annoying little vibrations either, i mean it felt like i had no shock absorbers on the car.
eventually i got SSM SFC and that made the car really strong but I would never have bought the car if I would have known those ttps were aftmkt.
incedentaly - factory ttops are ok because the factory adds bracing to reduce the flex but if your freind is really serious about making power with his car, tell him that aftmkt. t-tops will ruin the handling unless he spends a mint on bracing the subframe.
I really dont mean to tell a horror story here because people always tell me they love my ttops. they are real glass and I think they actually look beter than the factory ones. but if they only knew how bad they are when it comes to handling...

I've got an '82 T/A with t-tops and I love them. I do have to deal with the leaks, but it's not that bad, and there are a lot of things that I you can do to stop the leaking. I haven't tried anything yet. I guess I should soon though. I would stongly suggest buying the car with them from the factory though. I do body work, and although it wouldn't be too hard to do, I wouldn't. The flexing would ruin your car, and not just your thoughts about it. By the way, my tops are factory, and they are glass, yeah I've heard of factory plexi-glass, I've just never seen them. They're not difficult to deal with and I would rather have them than worry about how much room they take up in the trunk.

I have had factory t-tops on several 3rd gens. They leak because the gaskets get old and shrink. Pull the tops out and there are adjustments where the "pins" go into the roof of the car, and this usually snugs them up and cures the leaks.

If you really want t-tops in a car that came without them, I would find a car in the boneyard that came with them OEM, and take everything from that. There are some braces in the roof that you will have to weld in, so you're gonna have to repaint at least the top when you're done, and it'll never match right. The door gaskets have to now wrap around the t-top openings, so you have to cut carefully and install everything right. Lotsa potential to screw up the car.

My suggestion, sell the car and buy another one with the t-tops in it already. Just MHO.

i have aftermarket ttops on my GTA and they dont leak, as for the structural problems that may occur, i would just install subframe connectors to counter that problem.
sorry, but i dont know where they were done.. i would ask a local pontiac/chevy dealership,, becasue thats where my ttops were added becasue in 88 350tpis didnt get ttops from the factory.
good luck
