Sub-Frame Connectors

I am planning to install sub-frame connectors as soon as I make up my mind wich ones I want. I am leaning towards the UMI brand but also like the BMR ones. Hoping to hear all the pros and cons on them or any other ones that work good and fit right

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

First...Welcome to the board.

There are LOTs of threads on this if you do a search.

Both are very good brands. Comes down to preference.

My suspension is all UMI (sfc, panhard rod, lca, wonderbar) and I'm quite happy with them. The sfc's are VERY beefy and solid. ALso, the guys at UMI are great to deal with.

Choice is yours.

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

Hello
Thanks for considering UMI Performance for your suspension needs. We do offer a weld on version what have been tested and proven. They work on all styles such as T top, Convertible, And hard tops. And when you purchase from UMI Performance you are not only getting a great quality product. But its also made right here at our own facility in the USA.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Brad

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

I bought a set of BMR's for my car. I need to get off my *** and install them. I've got the welding equipment, but I have never welded anything with MIG before. I need to practice before jumping into that.

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

The BMR n Alston SFC is the way id go Id I had room for both, links is post above.

They are a match made in 3rd gen heaven till someone offers a complete kit like that.

I went with the Alston bolt in / weld in from Dough Herbert Racing $190 shipped.

Even better then Alston prices.

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

Will UMI's work with the SLP exhaust system? I have been under there quite a bit lately and there isn't a whole lot of room! Thanks!

If you have dual cats, you will probably need to re-bend the cat pipe closest to the edge of the car....or get the hammer. Nothing major.

I have dual cats and an SLP loudmouth exhaust.

Re: Sub-Frame Connectors

All I can say, is dang UMI's subframe connectors are HEAVY. To some people that = beefy/strong, to others it's extra weight your car has to lug around. Can't compare the weight to other brands from my experience though

Heavy recangular steel also equals less chance of flex You want your sfc's to have some weight to them.....as opposed to aluminum.
