Window Weatherstrip Replacement?
Window Weatherstrip Replacement?
Hello,
I am currently replacing the weatherstripping along the window of my 82' Z28. I took the door panel off and replaced the exterior strip (which was held on by some screws). But the interior strip looks as though it is molded on to the plastic part that runs the top length of the door on the inside. What is the process for replacing this interior window strip?
Thanks

Re: Window Weatherstrip Replacement?
unfortunately, as you're seeing, that seal is plastic welded to the upper plastic panel. if you have the tools, you can grind down the plastic "rivets" that hold the parts together and then use a plastic welder (or some sort of adhesive) to get the parts back together.
if the task sounds too daunting, we do offer the sweeps with the upper mouldings pre-installed together
