This free program for selecting a cam is a really nice tool. Allows you to choose by intended use and then allows you to run it on a simulated dyno

Re: CompCams-CamQuest
Yea its been around a long time. Its just like desktop dyno.
Its non free(now) program is much better, cam quest 6. It has flow bench tests data on many heads, stock and aftermarket.

Re: CompCams-CamQuest
Keep in mind, the hp/tq specs that the program comes up with are usually a bit higher than what should be expected.
Now saying that. Its usually a good tool to use to see if a certain component will raise hp or tq in which rpm range. I wouldn't use it for a total hp guesstimate. This would leave you very disappointing.
Its a bad tool for the new to engine building, or non builders, or just people who don't know a thing. I wish comp cams hadn't made the program so easy to access, but I understand it is a selling point for their products, and relieve much of their pointless work of telling people what cam will and will not work. Its just ridiculous when I here someone say their 305 will have this much hp yadda yadda. Or when I go to a dyno shop and guys are saying but cam quest said I should be making this (...whining...)
