The Monogram 1/24 Trans Am my late grandfather built for me when I was about 11 or 12-ish, right about the time my 1984 1/1 scale version was sitting brand new on a yard in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They share garage space now and I can't see me ever parting with my '84, been 6 years so far........
Took some pics of random stuff from my basement & garage.
The Hot Wheels Knight Rider in the case is a 1/64 diecast with a working front scanner light. It came with a USB cord to recharge the battery in the car to make it work. Pretty cool.
I saw a different version of the auto world camaro set at Walmart over the weekend. It has a 1982 blue & silver pace car camaro instead of the white one shown in your picture above. I should’ve thought to take a picture of it.
since i dont have my car anymore and wanna clean up a little im pretty much going to be selling most of my collectible stuff. i just havent figured out prices or how i wanna sell them.

bummer - you were the main person keeping this thread going. i'll miss the updates.
After seeing the Firehawk Hauler in this thread I was on the hunt for one as we raced in the Firehawk Series in the 80's. This was the first Firehawk car that I built back in 1987.
Are you gonna post here? And what happened with your car?
post the cars for sale here? maybe. just takes alot of time trying to figure out prices and all that nonsense. if your interested in some of the toys and stuff message me and we can figure something out. i dont come on here too much anymore now though.
sold the car to a buddy in tennessee. hes been enjoying it. probably better out there anyways since its not commifornia. they started doing random smog check points in my area recently and man if that car woulda got caught in one i woulda been screwed.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure it has been packaged as a Firehawk before.
If you are talking about the diecast, not likely. That is the first '91-92 Firebird or Trans Am diecast that has been made to my knowledge. So if they made a Firehawk one, that's news to me.
AMT kits always struck me as being basic kits, kinda clunky.
Learning this the hard way. Currently slowing building the '91 GTA kit, trying to make it look like my '91 GTA. You can tell that the kit was largely a carry over from previous kits. It has V-belts, air intake isn't right, etc. From pictures of the Monogram kits (mine are still sealed and I want to keep it that way), those kits seem to be more detailed with the correct things. The strut towers, correct air intake, even the steering column has the turn signal stalk. Too bad the Monogram wasn't a 2-in-1 kit to make it a Firebird/Formula or a Trans Am/GTA like the AMT does.
I'm going slow and trying to make the details correct as much as possible. Once I'm done with this one, I'm going to try to make another one, but make it look like my '92 T/A convertible. That's going to be a challenge because I am going to have to cut the top and somehow make the rear tonneau cover area. Right now, I'm thinking that I can cut that portion off of a Corvette convertible kit. We'll see how that goes when I get to that point.
The 91-2 formula is a new model, new wheels and body. Possibly different colors coming and also a 91-2 trans am. I inquired about a larger scale but they said no dice at this time.
I pre-ordered 30 of the auto world formulas so i could display them like the 27 (25) firehawks. My thought was, do the 27 cars, even the 2 canceled, do one like my (1 of none #28) firehawk clone, hopefully get stupid lucky and get the chase and raw chase. I ended up with the raw chase and the chase. Crazy...
I got the regular one, and the regular chase. Would love to have that Raw Chase, but when they pop up they are way more than I am willing to spend right now.
I was offered 300 the night i posted pictures of it. Dead give away it was worth more. I'm not sure how true, but another guy messaged me an said there's only 10 raw chase released with a new model introduction. He said it's probably worth 7-800. I thought that was nuts.
Only 2,496 of this run made.
I don't know anything about these little cars. What is the Chase and the Raw Chase?
In the die-cast collecting world “chase” typically means a limited run of a standard production model with either special wheels or extra shiny paint, etc.
A raw chase, based on the pics, appears to be a chase that isn’t painted at all.
Manufacturer’s will typically drop one chase model per case of standards, or every other case, etc.

I saw one in the package sell on ebay for around $500. I'd think that's the market for it. There was one other guy who sold two of them outside the package for a little over $200, but if you ask me I think his are faked somehow. Don't have any proof, but my gut finds it weird that the same person has two of these and opens them both before selling. Then sells a few other raw chase cars opened as well. Something just seems off with that seller.

I'll probably catch some flack for this but it's my opinion that something might be a little off with someone paying $500.00 for a brand new just freshly Made in China "Hot Wheels" style toy car.
Anytime I see something that is brand new and says "Rare, Collectible, Limited Edition" I'm a little suspect. You think those Chinamen over there don't see "American Fools" paying crazy money for these on eBay and staying late after work and running some more of them off the line to sell on eBay for stupid money?
Old Hot Wheels cars didn't start off as Rare and Collectible. They were toys to be played with that got enjoyed, lost, broken, destroyed and over the years their numbers dwindled down to near nothing and few were left in nice condition or new in box. They became Rare and Collectible.
This is artificially manufactured rare and collectible.
Not trying to poop on anyone's parade here. Everyone likes collecting something. It's a hobby that brings joy to people and if they can afford it then by all means carry on and enjoy it. No one is getting hurt and ain't no skin off my nose.
