Cheap enough, bothers me that they say oversize shipping. Box shouldn't be that big. GM is available for a Benny though.

 

Yeah, i wouldn't bother if i didnt live in the neighborhood already. Their shipping is too high.

 

"Arriving Soon!" is Classic Industries speak for "We might have it available someday, but it's not available right now".

They've had some parts listed as "Arriving Soon!" for years. If you email and ask when, they'll tell you there's no due date. In other words, it's potentially vaporware.

 

I know all about their backordered delays. I've waited 2 yrs for some of their stuff, but if ordered now you lock in that price. Which no doubt will be much higher by the time "arrives soon" gets here.

 

For that price, ya, I will gamble and order it. If it never comes, not out anything. If it does, then I have a couple for "stock". Shipping was only $10 so its not out of line at all. Ended up getting two shipped for cheaper than one would cost from Hawks before shipping!

I've tried to restore the one I have, but it just doesn't have the nice glossy finish I've seen others have.

 

Back from the dead! Just got an email from classic yesterday saying " your order will ship soon" w/ tracking provided when shipped. At $38.33 is was worth waiting. Link now list it at $219.
A friend of mine also ordered one after i told him. Just got a call from classic telling him the same thing. Anyone else order one?

 

I never did update this and it was not much long after i posted this, but good ol Classic reneged on their price and wanted me to pay the new price of $250 or whatever it is. Their claim was i canceled my order, but in reality they canceled for me and then claimed i never replied to emails regarding this back order. Anyway, needless to say i never got this insert, but if its anything like their other OER stuff. Fitment is probably crap anyway, at least thats how i console myself..hehe.

 

Sorry to hear that.. They came through on that price for me.. Looks good but the font size is off a bit.. but for 50ish shipped , I ain't complaining.

 

Just installed mine this past weekend. I was very happy with the fit and finish. It’s very glossy, I wish it was a little more satin or matte to match the headlight/ bumper black area. The hardware they supplied is NOT correct… I re used my factory hardware.

 

My friend hasnt installed his. so ive yet to see it in the flesh, but all their reproduction parts seem to be about 98.9 percent of the OE dimension. Although fitment looks good in the pic.

 

Just curious if anyone has any updates on this piece? those who have had it for a year or so, is it holding up?
Fitment good, no warping or anything?

I want the bow tie glossy black version. Is it as glossy as the pictures show, and does it hold up over time?

 

Since my last post my buddy installed his shortly after and so far its holding up fine. Just saw it yesterday in fact and its looked glossy. Even though it was a bit dusty.
