I've had the Hooker Super Comps on my 383 for about 4 years now. Haven't had any problems with the #8 primary. I just put a small amount of High Temp sealant on before I slip the pipe in and no leaks. Now for the bad news. You are going to need to raise the motor up about 8" or so and slip the headers in from underneath the car. Once you get them in buy yourself a set of Fel Pro header gaskets. The ones that come with the headers are crap. Hope this helps.

My #8 does not leak either and I did not put any sealer on it. I also blew one of the gaskets that came with the headers. I retorqued them only once a couple of weeks after the install. I propably should have checked them again.

so if I already have my motor out, I should set the headers in place them lower the motor into them?
