What do I do now??

I just got a new cap and rotor from Hypertech, and a new coil from MSD.

2 problems....now it's my understanding (from previous experience) that the rotor should just come right off by pulling up on it?? This one is so nasty that it won't come off....do I risk anything by trying to use a wrench and yanking it off???

2.) The new coil needs to go on the mounting braket so it can be attached to the manifold, but the bracket is attached to the original coil by some other means than a screw. It mentions something about "that riveting might be necessary." Now I'm not totally into the lingo, but isn't riveting mean that I need to drill that crap out??? If so, what size drill bit do I use. MSD, seems to have provided screws and nuts for afterwards......why can't they just supply the new bracket as well.

Help???

yes the rotor should just come off, but after years or heat and corrosion it maybe stuck, the last one I replaced I had to take the distibuter out and chisel the rotor button off(becareful when doing this) however your second problem I am not sure about, is the coil bracket rivited to the manifold, all the ones I have ever seen are bolted on the drivers side behing the TBI unit. hope this helps. lil jay

Thanks for your help, but I got it. :lala: Nothing a hammer and screwdriver couldn't handle. That taste of victory is sweet!! I have defeated the rotor and the coil.:lala:
