Anyway i called them up today and to verify whether has it been shipped or not(torque arm mount) They told me that it hasnt been shipped out. I asked them "Do u carry it in stock" They replied "New or used" I replied Whichever. They replied have both.
. I replied can ya please send it over today or tomorrow. They said they'll do whatever they can to send it out tomorrow cause today was impossible.
I never had such a complicated time ordering a mount.
Thumbs down for me.
BTW i ordered the mount last tuesday with my credit card

ok I call them up, Was the product shipped out? What product.... Torque arm mount for 84 Z28 manual tranny. Wait about 10 min. He finally gets back to me, Umm we dont carry torque arm mounts for manual trannies only autos? What was that? So i waited a week then was reassured that it would still be shipped. His answer: Nothing i can say to help ya but sorry.....
Not only do they suck, but there a waste of advertisment space

I still honestly don't think the problem is with them. I think it's the whiney little beeotch who can't accept the facts that:
1. It will, on occasion, take longer than a WEEK to get a part. and...
2. Mistakes are sometimes made. Deal with it.
Don't you realize that your posts are getting deleted for some reason? You're wasting everone's time, including mine, in the minute or two it took me to write this.

Taking a week to get something is no big deal.
Roy and Stacey are great people, and I enjoy every talk I've had with them.
That said, I've done business with them 3 times, and all 3 times I've had negative experiences. I am lucky that I can drive to their store, so shipping is not an issue. I genuinely beleive they are good people who try to help, but their business sense is less than spectacular.
Good people, not so great business.

The part where they told him it was in stock then the next day they say they do not stock it...not good business practice...it is good to see posts like this. It shows us what businesses to be lcautious with.

Again..this is all here say...all a one sided story...and NO he shouldnt have to get on here and argue back and forth about whos right and whos wrong...
I too have never had a problem with them.
How did it cost you money? did they keep it? NO I doubt it...
I rarely order online, meaning if I cant talk to someone I wont order....order automation doesnt wok to well and we all know that.
So maybe thats you problem....and alot of the problems
I also think most of the time you people try to compare these types of business with the likes of Summit or Jegs..which they are not....SO THERE!

I have no interest in this company or any of the company's on this board, I just think that complaining this much over not getting a part in under a week is ridiculous. This guy thinks the world should stop and *** should hand down his part on a golden pillow as soon as he orders it. I'm not saying this is the best place in the world to deal with, I haven't bought anything for my car from them, nor any of the other sponcors this board has, yet. The only place I've gotten parts from is O'Reilly's, and AutoZone (carb, fuel line, hood struts, etc.). When I bought my carb from O'Reilly's, I had to wait for it to come in from another store. My wait was about 2 hours. This is unacceptable. I think everyone on this board should join me in a boycott because I wasn't instantly handed my part.
I'll stand by my original thought. I don't care what company you order from, if it takes longer than a week to get there.... WAIT LONGER! Don't get on the internet like a retard and P|SS and MOAN about how you'll never do business with them again.

haha, Im not even gonna bother answering that one. They may be good people but their service still sucks in my mind and for the most part of the people who've dealt with them. It was a bit of overexeration since it didnt arrive in the 4th day, that i'll admit, but when you make me wait a week and what if i did wait 2 weeks and find out that the part is non-existed in their warehouse, how am i suppose to feel then eh? You're not the one who's time got wasted. You're also the last person to tell me what to and not to type.

For all those who've succesfully dealth with them, congrats, but to those who plan on doing business with them. Double check your order and make sure that the exact part that you need is available.

I don't really think it matters to anyone here, except the consumer. He is the person who was delayed.
Time and money? Time is money! If you cannot rely on someone, then that person or entity needs to be replaced. The system must continue to work.
Besides, "The customer is always right". Doesn't matter how much they spend, or how often they purchase. I treat all my customers the same, and so should any business.
What? If something exceeds its due date, their is a problem. With the exception of unforseen problems (such as natural disasters) their is no excuse whatsoever..
I expect higher standards of customer service than you are suggesting.
No you wasted your own time both writing this, and jumping on this bandwagon. If you this example has met your expectations as a customer, then fine. I just hope your never in a situation where customers are relaying on YOUR judgements. I don't care how many people are on your bandwagon. Its wrong! Customer service is CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Lack of education.

You say you treat all your customers the same. How would you treat someone who started complaining about your business after not receiving somthing in 3 DAYS? I highly doubt you'd be Mr. Personality then. Well that's what this guy did. As to something exceeding it's date, I HIGHLY doubt that Third Gen Resource said that the part in question would arrive in under 3 days. The USPS doesn't even guarentee it's overnight delivery.
As to me "jumping on a bandwagon", I was the first reply to vortech when he started complaining after 3 days. That post got deleted. It seems to me, he was the one looking to jump on a bandwagon, as is apparent by the title of this thread.
Is the customer right even when he's an idiot?
EDIT: I do agree that something is left to be desired when you're told a part is in stock, and then find out it's not even carried.

Just to end this thread, i will give you a free torque arm mount that i removed from my car and its for a Manual transmission. Its from my 91 Z28. Just PM me and get me your information.
Call me crazy, but I still agree... the customer IS RIGHT.
Every company in the world is going to have customer service issues at some time. Some companies alot more than others.
The problem with alot of the "online" businesses that cater to our cars, and other brands in this hobby, is that alot of times they are started because these people are in the same hobby, like that type of cars etc... and more often than not, some of these people don't have the greatest attention to detail and business sense. Not to mention, ALOT of times, this is NOT the primary source of income for these people, and / or their staff is SMALL to keep overhead low, and customer service suffers when customer volume picks up...it's a Business 101 fact.
I've NEVER purchased a part from any of the "online" 3rd gen parts places... for a SIMPLE reason... I've NEVER failed to find the same part(s) for a cheaper price....no flame, just fact.
When I needed my manual tranny torque arm mount, I was in the MIDDLE of my T5 swap ( the one I had was actually broken ) and I emailed ALL Of the sponsored parts places and a few more that weren't. A full 24 hours later only one had responded, and this was a weekday, and that was not a sponsored business. He didn't have the part. I surfed the classified until I found someone parting out a T5 equipped car. Called him, bought the mount, and paid for Overnight shipping, and had the part the next day, and it STILL Cost less than all the price quotes I got from the online vendors DAYS and sometimes WEEKS later.
When I DO purchase things online from stores, if they charge my debit / credit card, they BETTER have my part shipped within 2 business days from the time the processed my card and were PAID. They don't, they lose my business, and I cancel payment regardless. An individual I can understand, life happens. A business? Nope...
That's just me, but I was raised by my Dad who ran restaurants for a living...he worked for some of the large fast food chains when I was a kid....overseeing 10-20 restaurants, and he believed the same things I do.
He used to visit each place personally AS A CUSTOMER, and I actually witnessed him firing the majority of the employees at one place because the customer service was so inept, and the employees s hateful and lazy.
It's a FACT... if consumers keep allowing businesses to get away with pitiful customer service, they will KEEP doing it to more and more people....that's just the way it is.
Just my 2 cents

Customer Service
AMEN!!! I've been waiting for someone with an understanding of customer service to voice this. I grew up in the automotive aftermarket industry and believe, the customer is always right wheter he's a jughead or not. We had several parts stores and I can remember after I got my licence going out to the store at 11:00pm to get a customer some brake pads or gear oil or a hundred other things. When you screw up somebody's order you take the hit, move on and try not to repeat, but to try to justify every slip up as the customers fault or being understaffed, get real!! My buisness theory is if you **** enough people off enough times, you won't be pissing anybody off at anytime. There's my dime.
I think other post on this company tells it all.One went on for awhile and thirdgenresource had very few people for them, most against them. Its a fact that this company keeps getting these post and other sponsors on the board dont. Its clear not many here check on a company before ordering and if they did check and still order then its on them.I am sure some people have had good dealings with them, good for those few.Maybe they are good people but Im looking for a part not a friend for life.
hahah meat insulting someone.... If you had any brain you'd see that it was 4 days. I was given a date on when id be expecting my delivery. You're obviously some nimwit who cant understand the fact that when i order something and am told it will be there in a certain day then it should be there at that particular day. At this point i really dont have to explain myself to you. Because of that week delay i had certain priorities to take care of. Regardless of all the bad mouthing i've been hearing about thirdgen resource i figured to give them the benifet of the doubt. Before my purchase i clearly asked whether i can recieve the product by friday and was assured. You're not the one who's been delayed and for what delay? That isnt any of your business. The fact remains that its costed me money and time and i dont like the way they're business is being run and warning other customers to double check. Again if this is a waist of your privledged time
go post someone else where your information is more usefull.

I think that you have every right to be pi$$ed.They charged your card, told you when the parts was going out, then found out they dont stock it.Thats BS.When I get paid for a part it goes out the next day, especially a small easy to pack part.
And just think guys TGR is supposed to be at the nationals in a few weeks trying to milk the un-suspecting consumer.

Vortech,
First, let me say I'm sorry. I am a "nimwit," because I thought that you got upset after 3 days. I was wrong, I should have seen that it was 4 days. I'm sorry. I should have understood that because of that week delay, you had "priorities" (and not just any "priorities" mind you... No way! You had "certain priorities!") to take care of. Is one of your priorities to one day learn how to use that word in a sentance?
Can anyone help me out here? I understand the "You're not the one who's been delayed" but the other part just leaves me
Anyway, let me get back to my apology. I'm sorry they "costed you money." I hope nobody ever does something that costed you money again. They were wrong! We'll show them! Together, by using bad grammar, incorrect spelling, and run on sentances, we'll put Third Gen Resource out of business! Then, and only then, will all the people who haven't received parts in under a week and were "costed" money rise up, and say "You've costed us money and made us have certain priorities for the last time!"
And then all will be right with the World.

If you were talking about me, I have both bought and sold from the internet, just not from this boards sponcors.
I haven't bought anything for my car from them, nor any of the other sponcors this board has, yet.

me experience with them
I live in europe, I ordered a pair of parklamps and the creditcard was processed in early april (!). I am still waiting for the crap. I wrote at least 10 e-mail and they did not answer one of them. I bet they would answer me in 10 minutes if i would ask for an offer for 10 camaro hoods......
Anyway i will NEVER order again at Thirdgenresource even if they have parts i don't get anywhere else.

This is why I only do "over the phone credit card business" with Summit and Jegs. They handle their business.
