I will NEVER use Tirerack again!

I spoke with Connie, who is one of the co-owners, a few minutes ago. She informed me that her employees use alias names. She also informed me that her customer service dept. does not need product knowledge to do thier job. Furthmore, she kept interupting me and talking over me.

I think all they care about is selling you tires. Have a covered claim . . . . buy another tire 1st then they'll determine if the tire is covered. So IMHO they have effectively eliminated any accountability on their part. I will never ever do business with tirerack again! Connie showed me management's bad attitude towards this customer.

P.S. I had given them around $5,000 of my hard earned cash for a set of rims and tires and feel like I just got a swift kick in the pants!

that sucks man. I have had great experiances with them. To me I think they are the best place I have ever dealt with as far as customer service goes.

I had a problem with them last year and I raked them over the coals on a SCCA forum (TireRack is a sponsor of SCCA autocross). They tried to make up for it with a $50 gift certificate, and it expired this spring unused. I'd spent a little over $1000 with them, but they won't get another cent.

Tire Rack has effectively squashed fair competition thru out and out marketing blackmail and deception. They are also not on the up and up when it comes to product warranty and sales claims. I will not use them for any reason and the sooner people realize that there are other places that offer similar products at fair prices without the games, the better the market would be.

I never had a problem with Tirerack.com. The prices were good compared to all the local shops around me, and the shipping was fast.

If you have a legitimate claim, write your state's Attourney General. They can legally take Tirerack to court for you if the standard mediation doesn't work.

Most tire shops will beat TireRack's price these days.

I just had a Discount Tire open up by me and they only had General tires so I ordered two Kumho Ecsta 711s and then took them to the DT for mounting. They charged me $70 to mount & balance the tires [expensive IMHO] but I talked to the store manager today and he said he could order the 711s if I wanted a set for the front. He quoted me $174 out the door for them, which was $32 cheaper then getting them from the 'Rack and then having them mounted.

I know where I'm going for my next pair of tires.

Exactly, forget that mail order crap and just take the magazine or internet price to your local Discount Tire and they at least match and most times beat any other competitor. You just have to let the salesperson at Discount know what your position is before he tries to work you over.
