question about center console

I found this on 1A Auto http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Console/Che...07/230118/1986.
I'm assuming that i would just take off the old rubber on my original one, then this one just slips on the plastic part of the lid? It's not the whole lid right?

Re: question about center console

Its a cap, meaning it fits over the stock one. You wouldnt remove anything.

Re: question about center console

travis is correct; this part just goes over what you have now. if you're is cracked or burned, etc, its a lower cost option to trying to hunt down a mint condition one or getting a repro.

Re: question about center console

I would like to know how good the dash pad caps are. In texas the sun and heat can kill a dash fast, Mine is in bad shape but a new or used pad is way to much at this point. So right now all I can do is cover it up.

Re: question about center console

the caps are a nice option, but are definitely not a fan of heat. you will need to use a sunshade all the time, I wouldn't recommend ours if you don't with the texas heat. Although some do not like the look, you may be better with one of the carpet-style covers

Thanks. I have a carpet stye cover, it is nice not a cheap-o like some are.
It's kind a heavy and well stiched. Nice to see a company be straight up like this, others will try to sell one no matter.
