Thanks for your reply. I tried every one of the local parts stores, Pep Boys ,Autozone Oreilly's, wrecking yards, no one carrys them. I even tried the Pontiac dealership all they had was the whole hatch assembly which was over $400. Do you know of any other places I could try? I'm out of options

I'm suprised that AutoZone couldn't order one for you.
We ordered one from Advance Auto Parts in Nashville for my Brothers 88 Camaro, but it was a few years ago. It was $80.
Year one is a good last resort if all else fails.
Now that I think back, he just got the mechanical part and not the motor. There is a cheap plastic gear in there that gets stripped, which is all he really needed.
