K&S

I went into K&S to pick up a shifter for my 84 Z28 because my car came without a shifter ****. Sure enough they were out of stock. So, I figure I'll ask if they could order me one. I pick it out and order it no problem, "It'll be in by Friday" Friday rolls around, no call... I wait til Monday and give them a call, the guy says he has no record of an order (or my $10 deposit) and that the shipment won't be in til next Friday. Ok, no problem, I wait til the next Friday, "Oh sorry about that the shipment will be in another 3-5 weeks." THREE TO FIVE WEEKS??!?!? Why did I bother having them order it if it was not going to be a month to get something that I could have gotten (probably cheaper) online? How frustrating is it to find out 2 weeks after you order something that it won't be in for another 3-5 weeks? It's like a candy store when you go in but hell if I'm giving them any further business. They misrepresent the facts and then BS you on the phone when you try to find out what's going on. I'm thinking of going in and just getting a refund but what the hell I want a shifter **** already! It bloody well better be the right one too or I will be quite perturbed.

well another month has passed and STILL NO SHIFTER ****!!!! It's really annoying to have them sitting on it like this. "oh it has to clear duty" bull**** it takes about a day to clear the border, if that. The store is like a candy store with all the neato performance parts, but damn is their service crappy.

hey I am from NY lewiston area and I went to K&S a couple of times but only to look at things in person that I couldent see in summit. I thought they were the most obnoxious overpriced vendor I have ever seen. you shouldve saved yourself some hassle and taken the 8 hours to drive to talmadge to the summit store.

hey dont you think there should be a WNY local topic board or site. I could never find one when I lived there.

There's a bunch of guys from the WNY area who hang out on www.camaro28.com in the NY/NJ section. The first time I ever went out looking for anything performance related was a trip to K&S, so I didn't really know any better. The guys were real nasty on the phone like it was a bother to look up if my part I was waiting for for 3 months was in yet. I don't understand what they were sitting on it for so long for anyway... I'm taking a run up to summit next summer when I take my car out again though, I hear their store is amazing.

the summit store is pretty cool because they have the warehouse attached and if you want a part, BAM you ask and they bring it out.
its like a short order restaurant -- pretty cool.
