Trying new things

Im selling my S-trim on ebay, so I'll be experimenting N/A for about 3 months.

My goal is to get a perfect N/A tune with the singleplane, and then i'm gonna get a new blower from Summit. I'm really torn about this because, part of me is getting old and can't take the noise of a straight cut gear, so I want a SQ trim. However, another part of me says "Stop being a baby, and get a T-trim for more boost". I just don't know. Perhaps a fellow board member will take me for a ride in his/her T-trim car and convince me that the noise really isn't *that* bad..

Either way, I'm picking my block back up from the machinest today or tomorrow, and will have it in the car in a few days. (for those of you that don't know, I had a bearing issue due to metal shavings so I tore it down again).

My goals are:

1) To see if driveability problems between single/dual plane are TRUELY with just a wet flow intake

2) To see how streetable a singleplane is on a fairly low compression (9:1) n/a motor is.

3) To prove how much power a blower TRUELY adds to the
combo by getting multiple n/a 1/4 mi runs in, then switching to back to a blower.

I havn't built/tuned a n/a car since I sold my '78 Z28 in 2001. So this will be a fun experiment for me.

Sounds like a fun project, wish more people would do things like this so it gives the rest of us a base to work with. Do you plan to tune your N/A engine with the 749 ECM?

Hi,

Yeah I plan to get the spark and timing curve dialed in to 100kpa. '749 VE is not as granular, but I think once you get a good baseline tune N/A, you can deal with the blower afterwards.
