T-RAM instead of my current SUPERRAM!!!

Hey guys,

I was looking to get a decent used aftermarket tpi unit for my 5.0, and I ended up finding a BRAND NEW OLD STOCK T-AM unit!!! The unit is missing couple bolts and gaskets... Not a pitty to do the gaskets myself and to match the existing bolts. I just went to see the intake in person, and I must say I was very impressed with the huge size of it!

I didn't knew that it has built in fuel rails

Now my question is, would you swap a slightly ported and polished superram intake for this rare T-RAM. I remember reading some numbers on HP and torque gain on this intake. But is it worth for 1500.00$ CAN

Besides, I am having a major vacuum leak since the day I installed this unit

In any case, I will probably end up buying it for my private collection ;-)

Just to let you know, the 305 is not in my camaro but is built for my astro van... I wouldn't put the superram on the 5.0 nor the t-ram.

It's definitely not worth it in reference to performance, as you'll see just as much horsepower with either a HSR, or LT1 intake swap. However, you mentioned that you were buying it for your "private collection", and it is there alone where it'll be worth it over all of them....

buy it keep it but, don't expect it to perform any better than just about any other intake above the tpi.

I have made some research since yesterday, and I came accross an article that compared the superram intake to the t-ram... They were trying to achieve the same performance and combination than the t-ram combo with all the goodies (tranny, rear end ratio, and all internal components camshaft rockers etc.).

They ended up saying that the superram produced more hp at higher revs! They said that the t-ram is good till 5800 RPM band while the superram is still alive till 6200 RPM band! In return, the t-ram should produce more torque in low revs from 1500 to 4500 compared to the superram.

I know that my car would be one of a kind, wearing a rare t-ram

But I don't know what is involved in swapping this intake in. Is there any t0ram owner that remember all their route in installing this thing.

If you're really interested in this intake manifold, I would definitely make it a point of reaching out to SLP. Their based a mere twenty minutes from my home, and after speaking to a few who work there, who are in the know, they are definitely still very fluent with the characteristic's of the system....
