383 OR 406 WITH STEALTHRAM?
my main goal for this car is to run at least 11.90's on motor and still have a 150 shot of nitrous just in case.i want to run the stealthram beacause bang for the buck it seems like the better in take.and with the extra cash i save i can still have a chip burned and still be under the price of what a miniram cost.either engine i build will have afr 195 or 210cc intake runners and a solid roller cam.this will not be a full race car,but just an occasional track warrior, and mostly to mess with the guys at work.also dont know which trans to go with.350?or700r4?ive had the superram and was really impressed with it but it is to expensive.

you can get a stronger th400 for less money that an equivelent 700r4 but you lose overdrive. the 406 will cost more but they are sweet and i want one.

Since its not a track warrior...why not just stay with a hyd roller cam. Its much more streetable/driver friendly then the solid.
However, 11.90s are achievable with a 383, 10.5 comp, AFR 195cc, and a 226/232 hyd. roller cam with the 700r4 and a ~3k stall and 3.73 gears.

My 406 W/ AFR 210's, HSR and 8:5:1 compression made 481hp at the crank. I'm sure that should get you close to your goal. If my motor was designed for natural aspiration with say 11:5:1 to 12:1 compression i'm sure I could have squeezed close to 575-600 hp N/A.
I say go with the 406!

my 406 with AFR 210, 233/233 hyd roller , 11:1 cr, runs 12.5 @ 115mph with a 2.2 60'foot, stree tires
My clutch has been slipping a lot but my buddy has an identical setup except he has a Miniram and runs 12.15 @ 118 mph with street tires and a 1.8, 60 foot
