There really is not much to the kit since they still use the same piping from the throttlebody to the air can except they install some sheet metal on the corners inside, I guess to help make the air flow better
Your really just paying for the box and the K&N filter when it's all said and done, if you really need that extra flow I would fab up some 3-4" piping and go from there, should be lots of ideas on how to do something like that on this sight.

Here is my old SLP Dual CAI on my 86 Trans Am with a converted 87 TPI to 90-92 SD system,
