Generation 3 injectors GM/Ford

Hope this is a relevant question to this particular forum. Have a 89 truck puting down 250 hp at the rear wheels and soon will be rebuilding a slightly warmer engine for it. Currently using Ford yellowtops which are 19pph which I think is around 22pph at 45psi and work quite well. I was thinking of using the 24pph bluetops for the next engine which may be overkill but I already have them but haven't sent them out to be cleaned and flowed yet. The question is- the Bosch/Ford injectors are pretty good and likely better than GM put in the 90's, I'm wondering if a set of LS1 takeoffs would be a clear upgrade being a newer generation and if so- are they a direct bolt in for TPI rails and harness.

You can use the newer types:
The clips cant be used

The benefit is not that big because of the batch firing off the injectors.
In a sequential system where the injector is placed closer to the valve the benefit would be greater.

Anyway, the newer ones will not hurt you

I run LS1 injectors with no prob. Also Yellow tops are accel injectors. 19lbs in an SVO brand are Orange, 22 is pink, 24 blue, 30 red, 36 (brown?) and 42 is green.

Ford Racing has a neat little part to adapt the EV1 (old school) to EV6 and EV14 injector (like the new cars have)

Yeah your right, running Ford orange tops- 19pph. Used to have a Edelbrock system that ran Pico injectors with a four hole disc that atomized the fuel- which is similar to the LS1 injectors I think. My impression is that although the new LS1 injectors may be marginally better or another viable option- there is no reason to buy another set or change out a set of blue top Bosch. It may be that with the plastic bodies they are just cheaper to produce for the OEMs.????
