LT1 intake VS. Stealth Ram intake
So, I'm still runnin TPI. Looking to go HSR, but wanted to know if anyone can explain the differences between the two. Obviously the HSR has a large Plenum for increased air distribution, but is that better than no plenum? As you can see I'm a little confused about the performance of the two intakes. HSR should bolt right up with no problem, as to the LT1 will take some sort of modification to install right?

HSR is based on a street ram intake. A lot of hot rod guys like the look. performance is ok. Some have peaked 400+ hp n/a, but I'm not sure thats the norm. Might hit your hood, might not. Might go fast, might not.
LT1 is a stock intake, flows decent, good for 400-450hp N/A all day. Needs extensive mods to bolt to a SBC, needs water system mods, etc. IMO, it's fugly even when done right, though tpi_roc got it close to looking acceptable.
Miniram is probably the best bet for LT1 like clearance and performance, infact, greater performance. Have some air distribution issues, but its a bolt in package.
Best performance is a singleplane EFI setup, like the holley commander systems, or victor EFI. But hood clearance issues, and fuel fabs need to be considered along with a lot of tuning. (the singleplanes need a lot of AE to get going).
This is my opinions. read the sticky's.
