External fuel pumps with HSR

It looks like I will remove my SR from my stroker motor in order to solve a persistant oil leal on the pass side head. I promised myself if I remove the SR one more time, I would not re-install it, PITA!.

My fuel situation is that I am running Ford 24 #/hr injectors with my 395 cu.in. stroker and the TTA fuel pump. I am going to install 30#/hr injectors if and when I install an HSR. I believe that I am on the verge of running out of fuel now. So,

would an externally mounted fuel pump work well for me?

What brands and model numbers are good?

I used Holley fuel pump the one that comes in the kit. I'm tired of dropping the fuel tank to replac the pump so the external one is nice now. mine os a 255lpm pump.

Re: External fuel pumps with HSR

My fuel tank is sumped with -8an lines. I would not recommend pulling through the factory pump. The hard line in the tank is only about 1/4" in diameter and not capable of moving enough fuel to make big power. I have been told that external pumps that pull through the factory pump have a high failure rate for this reason.

I removed the pump and added some hose to take up the left over space. I have had no problems to date and it's been over 3 years in the car.
