Fuel Injector to Fuel Rail - How To?

I have a 1996 v6 3800 Camaro. I have done some repair work that required removing the front injector from each side of the fuel rail. I am having difficulty reinstalling the injector to the rail. I can't seem to push hard enough on the injector AND slide the retaining clip back in place at the same time. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a special technique or some trick to this? Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks, Gary

First off make sure you apply some petroleum jelly to the o-rings because this will allow the injectors to slide in smoothly. I know what you mean about the 3800 clips because i ended up leaving them out because the were a pain to get in. Ive been running it without clips for abut 6 months and no problems.
