LT1 Intake conversion remote tneck temp sensor problem

Using Offenhauser 5308. 1/4 inch npt fitting for coolant sensor. Trouble is that the coolant sensor that has to be relocated wont fit. Some are using an adapter to rig something up; i wondered if my engine coolant sensor, which im unsure of its diameter and thread pattern, could be replaced with a fan temp sender which would presumably be 1/4 inch npt. what have others done?

I just took mine to the Machine shop and for $12 they drilled and tapped it to the correct size. It looks much better than having a spacer, ans is one less place to leak.

Re: LT1 Intake conversion remote tneck temp sensor problem

My offy remote t-stat housing came with 3x 1/2" NPT holes

The factory sensor is 3/8" NPT size

I got the correct bushing from Lowes for $2, its in the brass plumbing section

A little pipe tape and it seals just fine
