Seeking guidance for a carb to efi swap

My car- 86 T/A- 406 sbc, Vortec heads, Comp 268 xe cam, approx 9.6-1 comp, Edelbrock rpm air gap intake, Speed Demon 750, Edelbrock tes and cat back, 700r4 with 2400 converter, 3.73 Strange 12 bolt. Mostly a driver with some track time. Best run-12.7 @ 109. Elevation here is 2500 feet. Car still has all power options. Originally a lg4. I would like to swap to efi for improved drivability, but I am new to aftermarket efi. I contacted TPIS. and they said their Miniram swap kit would be suitable for my application. Expensive, but I am looking for an all inclusive kit with matched components. After much searching, the best route is still unclear. Looking for advice from those with experience with carb to efi swaps. Would the Miniram kit give me good drivability with room for future mods? Thanks for your time.

Probably so; it's just a chunk of aluminum, though. Won't have much effect one way or another. Of FAR greater concern as far as driveability, is the electronic system you use with it, which of course could be ANY of the available ones; Megasquirt, Holley Commander, FAST, Accel DFI, Big Stuff, Edelbrock, even a stock GM one, and so on. What are you looking at for that?

The person I talked to at TPIS recommended the Holley Commander.

I'm sure that one could be OK; but by no means the only choice. You might want to research them all before making up your mind.... each has advantages and disadvantages.
