Is there any reason NOT to go with a stealth ram for my setup?

Is there any reason NOT to go with a stealth ram for my setup?

I know this question has been asked countless times on here, and after doing some searching and reading I’m 99.9% sure that I’m going with a Stealth Ram, but I wanted to ask your opinions on this before I go ahead and order everything.

Here’s my current TPI setup, which I have installed in a 87 Monte Carlo SS:

SD TPI setup with Vortec base
GM “350 deluxe” 330 HP crate motor http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=NAL%2D12486041&autoview=sku
2004R transmission with a 3000 stall (Just purchased a ~2400-2600 from Edge Converters that will be replacing this)
3.42 gears
Long-tube headers into true duals with an x-pipe

Originally I was planning on porting my TPI base/plenum and installing a set of TPiS runners that I picked up for cheap on ebay, but after reading more about the Stealth Ram I feel that it would suit the motor’s powerband a little better. Also, with the money that I would make selling the TPiS runners, vortec base, and the rest of my TPI intake I would recoup most of (If not all of) the costs associated with switching over.

This is my “weekend car” that I’d like to bring up to the track more often next year, so I think the loss in low-end torque would be more than made up for by the extra power up top.

Besides the loss in torque down low, are there any real drawbacks to converting over, or am I a fool for not already having the parts in the mail?

HSR will work fine for you
The main thing youll need to worry about is hood clearance

Being a mild engine with a baby cam the drawbacks of HSR will never be felt

hydraulic flat tappet...
.435 in. intake...
.460 in exhaust lift...
212... intake...
222... exhaust... at .050...
112.5 lobe centerline

yeah you'll have a much better time with the HSR over stock ported TPI base and those TPIS runners. Performance would be good either way, but the HSR will shine over TPI setup.

HSR shines on stock L98's so with abit more mods like on that motor, it will do even better

the other drawback is its not emissions legal, but if that doesnt matter to you, then your fine
