HSR and injectors

Just a quick question trying to figure out why I'm running lean with my setup

If my injectors are oversized wouldn't I be prone to more of a "rich" condition?

FP is 46, 28lb/hr injectors on a moderately modded 350. Trying to figure out if its a tuning issue or something mechanical.
No exhausts leaks. WB02 after warm up is around 17, BLM's as high as 150.

Re: HSR and injectors

Has it ever been tuned? (ECM chip burn)

What kind of injectors? Are they LSx style injectors rated at 58 psi? If so then at 46psi they would act like 25's. Stock is what? 22? WIth those mods and no tune but with bigger injectors, it still could run lean. Probably a tune issue.

If it was tuned before with a different set of injectors and now you swapped to larger ones and its gone lean, it could be one of two things in my opinion: Either different injector spray pattern that for some reason doesnt spray the same fuel amount as before even tho the rating is larger. OR the injectors are bad or maybe not flowing as advertised.

The injectors were bought from a CF member. They were cleaned by a reputable company and flowtested as well. He did send me sheet with them. Anyways they are a LT4 injector. So if those are rated at that high a pressure to I have to adjust my FP up?

I went from a CFI to HSR swap. I use EBL/Flash , BobR set me up with a .bin to start with. I've done several VE learns but its just not coming down. I did notice that when running the playback that both the WB02 and NB are all over the place.

Try upping your fuel pressure to about 56 like the ls cars. It will be the easiest thing to try and the engine will run cooler as well.

Probably need more work in the tune then. VE table is probably out of alignment and needs smoothened. What heads/cam you running? It probably needs more VE around idle cells/map. It may be commanding alot leaner than the engine wants. Then from there you will need to scale the table to dial in air fuel across all operating points.

Leave the injector pressure alone at the moment, as they are probably rated at 43.5 psi like other LT1/L98 motors are. Set injector constants and keep adjusting VE until the air fuel is happy.

I made some progress today in the right direction. Thanks to all you guys here. I think my problem is in the BPC-BPC vs Vac table of my tune.
I'm pretty certain that my problem is the fact that when I adjusted my fuel pressure it was with key on ... engine off. I set it for the pressure of 43.5 but when running its 38 or so. So when i place my value in from Bobr's worksheet it actually wrong. I need to adjust my FP with key on... engine running... and vac line disconnect.
Even though I've been using the EBL for the past year I'm still a bit shy of actually changing my tables since I'm not certain of what values to use in which cells. Still trying to learn all that. However I'm pretty confident that when i make my FP change and do some VE learns it should get much better. I will report back to let you all know how I make out with this.
And of course ... thanks!....

Re: HSR and injectors

I'm definetly getting closer and feel more confident know with driving it down the road. A/F in CL is ranging more where I want but is still getting a bit lean in the higher RPM's. With some more VE learns it should get better for me. Meanwhile hope you guys like first ride video's they're short but you should enjoy them.
In the drive before the road

The road test, It hit a WOT area for a second towards the end.
