Custom EFI On TPI Computer And Wiring
So I just recently bought a 87 TA GTA. First fuel injection system ive ever had. I have read for along time that TPI takes a little extra work to make power. I am thinking about doing my own top end fab work. Thinking of maybe using the Edelbrock Victor EFI manifold with their fuel rails for the manifold with a fabbed intake elbow and using the LS1 throttle body. My only concern is the current TPI computer and wiring harness. Im sure the comp will have to be tuned?

Re: Custom EFI On TPI Computer And Wiring
It will work but should be tuned to run best. Need LS1 IAC and TPS but those will splice right into factory TPI wiring. Colors are even matched the same, atleast they were on my car using brand new LS1 connector pigtails.
I'm running same setup on my turbo motor. 89 MAF wiring harness converted to 91-92 speed density ECM running 3 bar MAP tune and Victor EFI intake setup. LS1 TB.

Re: Custom EFI On TPI Computer And Wiring
Any opinions of some of the Ebay LS1 throttle bodies? Some look as good as stock in pics and a decent price
Ive been reading and everyone who has one or runs one seems to be happy with it!

Thats no good! I still need to get the engine rebuilt first. Biggest decision is what heads to go with the Victor intake. Itll have forced induction and dont want to gag the engine with small heads or go to big. Liking the victor heads but 227cc or the afr race ready 210cc

210's are MORE than enough head for a 383. I like the Profiler 210's or AFR 210's. Even the 195's work well enough to make 800 hp on boost without much effort

Re: Custom EFI On TPI Computer And Wiring
Im glad I finally figured out which direction to go with this TPI/EFI thingy lol. Now to finish selling off my old hobby and some of the carb and parts I was going to use on this build!

I have an elbow and a ported LS1 TB with bracketry and everything all set up. I've been running it on my 383, but I'm going to a 4-barrel TB next summer. It would be a bolt on deal for you including Throttle cable. Let me know if your interested.
*edit. You will still need to splice in the LS1 style IAC and TPS pigtails. They're available on ebay for $10 each.
