anyone know the color code for the 87 T/A 'RED'? I think there were 2 different shades or red that year and i'm getting it repainted and want the original red, it's already been repainted a couple times and i wanna get it right this time.
It is currently a bright red with silver trim.

Check your RPO Sticker (on the console compartment side) My Book shows Flame Red Metalic #74 (WA-8748) and Bright Red #81 (WA-8774).......... Mine is an '86 T/A, think the colors are the same numbers.......

 

I wish my car still had the RPO sticker.. come to think of it.. there are a lot of things I wish my car had.

 

i don't think i still have the RPO sticker, or i just can't find it. I do think i have the original window sticker, would it be on there??

This is a Flame Red 86 w/color code 81. With this and the original code of 8774 you should be able to get an exact match.

i found the original window sticker and the last thing it says on it is :

81U - Bright Red - Primary

BTW ....... I said "flame red" I think I meant bright red. At any rate it's the 81 code which is 8774

I work at a bodyshop and we have a computer paint code program. I noticed that there seemed to be some confusion on the "bright red" vs. "flame red" so the above numbers are what are important.
