I got my car painted 3 yrs ago...it is a Dupont tri-coat job. Every time someone dings my door, instead of having a dent, the paint just chips and it looks horrible...Maybe I should have kept my door mouldings on? Anyone else have this problem?

 

Most paint jobs that do this would be because of improper surface prep or possibly improper mix resulting in a "brittle" paint job.

I would check with the bodyshop as to their guarantee and the DuPont company also places a guarantee (that you might not know about) on their paint.

I would BYPASS the bodyshop first and go to a paint supply store that sells DuPont and find out what the guarantee is and what it covers.
