scratches on a plastic bumper

Ok, this is not thirdgen but, my girlfriend has a honda civic and somebody rubbed her bumper. I was wondering if just the area that the paint was rubbed off could be painted, or does the whole bumper have to be repainted?? This would also be good for future reference since the bumpers on our thirdgens seem to always get hit somehow. Thanks for any help.

I would repaint the bumper just so you dont have any masking lines. OR you can just try to blend it in if you have really close paint.

If the paint is actually cracked, then the bumper has to be stripped and painted. If you paint right over cracked paint on a urethane bumper, the cracks will reappear.
