NOt sure what all you know about it so far so i'll give ya the story from the top.
A guy bought this car in 1985, drove it around for about a week before it was stolen. The guy that i bought iit from bought it at a police recovery vehicle auction in 86 or 87, don't remember which. The deal was, he would fix the car, and his brother would buy it. Well his brother backed out so rather than wasting his money on it, he put it in his back lot and let it sit there for the next 15 years, until a guy that worked for him posted a for sale link about it on Camaroz28.com. I saw it, and drove 3 hours into New Jersey to have a look at it. I bought it that day for 800 bucks. When we took delivery of it, we made a 3 page list of just about everything we would need to get this thing back to showroom condition. The first step was seeing if the motor was still good. We put a battery in it to see if it would crank and it did. IT would start but only on starting fluid and it would die as soon as youstopped spraying. So obviously the fuel system was meesed up. I replaced all the relays and the fuel pump, and low and behold, the thing fired right up. It ran absolutely perfect, no smoke or anything. Next step was to see if the tranny still worked. Dropped it in Drive, no go. Trans is VERY shot. owell, at least the engine runs. Thats brings us to where i am with it today. It looks about the same as it does in the pics, i've been trying to get the wiring worked out. It seems as though whoever stole the car made it an issue to cut EVERY wire inside the passenger compartment. Right now i'm working on getting all the lights to work After that were gonna replace all the bushings and redo the brakes. Then it's off to the tranny shop. After that it goies to one of the best paint shops i've ever seen in my life for a fresh coat metallic blue... SHould be rpetty cool once we're all done with it.... that reminds me, i need to get to work
