Black paint

I have a black formula. Most of the paint looks good with a nice deep shine to it. The nose piece however is a different story. I don't really have any chips, but I have a lot of marks, kinda looks like bug guts that are imbedded (sp) into the paint. I have tried a light polishing compound but no luck. The paint on the nose also does not have a good shine like the rest of the car. Can anyone recommend anything? I have also used bug and tar remover with no luck. I also don't want to put a bra on the car. Thanks for any help.

I'd say try a clay bar and Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I know how you feel, the front part of my car doesn't shine that well, and is a little miscolored.
