I have the red painted rims that are common on 89 through 92 RS'. I am thinking of just painting them silver. To many people have the red ones. Anyone know how to take that paint off without harming the rim, and what paint to use to repaint it?

 

I USED AIRCRAFT STRIPPER FOR MY RIMS.IT TOOK OFF THE PAINT REAL GOOD WITHOUT SCREWIN' THE RIMS UP.THEN I PAINTED THEM WITH ENGINE PAINT AND THEN CLEARED THEM.

 

Yeah, get a can of Aircraft Remover from WalMart for like $5. Works great.

 

I would be careful, if the rims have clearcoat and you if you don't want to ruin that don't put that stuff on. However, if you don't mind, go for it.
