If Your Proud You Bought An American Car Post Your Pic And Give Me A Right On!!!

I have lived in Dallas all my life and ever since I
was 10 years of age when I saw a Firebird that had the
words Formula on the side I had to have it. Havent
changed my mind since then and now I drive one. Now these
American F-bodies have been around for quite a while and
have always been about speed and the thrill they give you
when you drive them. Not to flame anybody but what I call rice
is a car that has no history of even being any kind of
racecar in the first place. Some cars are just made for
transportation. If you want to get yourself a civic and
put a fat tach on the dash and pretend that your fast
thats fine. Just dont be surprised when a old beat up
Pontiac Grand Le Mans leaves you behind with behind
with its engine that leaks oil out the *** and is
about to blow up. (True story, that was my Dads car.
Two people in his car one kid in the civic.LOL threw
a rod a week later)

If you seem to stick up for people who drive rice what
are you doing on a Third gen F-body board tring to
post about it? I'll drive that bandwagon of the dislikes
of rice burners. Flowmasters sound nice and clean.
Beehives sound like kazoos, or something like a locus
in a coffee can. Thats just plain out annoying.
That sport they call Riceing is just a Fad and is not
going to last much longer. The people who spend 50
grand on a rice tring to fix it up just to race my
car is an idiot. :nono: They should have bought a Vette.

NOW IF YOUR PROUD YOU BOUGHT AN AMERICAN CAR AND
YOU LIKE THE APPEARANCE AND DETAILING OF IT POST YOUR
PIC HERE AND GIVE ME A RIGHT ON!!!

These cars kick ***!

I was in this girls 5.0 Pony, I was thinkin to myself "Cool Car". Ive always liked thirdgen camaros, but never made anything of it. Then we were at a stop light and a mint Maroon IROC pulled up next to us. That was it, from that day on I was like MUST HAVE IROC

I looked for a long time, alot of crappy ones. I almost settled on a crappy one, but my mom kept my head straight and kept telling me to wait.

I did, and this is the result:

Many of my friends have Imports, there ok. Even with the fart cannons, they dont sound too bad (Inside the car atleast, it has a nice humm)

But I love my bassy, rumbley exhaust, wouldnt give it up for anything. I like when people say they knew I was coming, not because they seen me, they heard me coming :lala:

RIGHT ON!!!

My family has owned nothing but American cars all my life. I grew up with the sounds of exhaust comming from nothing but American muscle. Now being 18 years old and seeing all these imports buzzing around makes me sick. I'm more proud then anything to own a piece of American machinery. The exhaust note alone every morning puts a smile on my face, and to just look at it you can see the glory... so I'm left to say right on!!

I fell in love with F-Bodies when I was little. Then I saw a GTA and my heart was set on getting one. I bought the car when I was 15, started driving it at 16 when I got a permit and then I finally got my liscense at 17. For the whole junior year I had the fastest car in school, even ricers knew they had no chance. Half way through senior year, this January, I blew the engine. Dad offered me our blazer but I wasn't gonna drive anything but an F-Body. 2 months and $3K later, i'm back on the road doing meaner burnouts than ever. The car total has cost me around $7-8K but that doesn't matter because I won't ever settle for less.

The post should read R.I.P F-BODY's, and reason why 3rd gens get all hairy over rice is the majority are slow and quite often see imported taillights......Here's to American styling and engineering :hail: but not to American reliability . BTW you don't need a V8 to go fast...

Why why.... would some one buy a rice burner
plz... stop try'n to make your ugy a$$ car look fast "poser"

Sometimes after seeing pictures like this, I find myself asking me this, "Why, Why I ask you?" Why would some one spend so much money attempting to make there Honda look like a Chevy, when it would have been twice as cheap to buy a Corvette? Not just that but the real thing would be faster too?!?! I really do not understand you Riceboys at all... Some one please help me answer this!

spoiler! A spoiler on a front wheel drive car.... hmmmmmm... sounds pretty dumb if you ask me?

OHHHH i get it now!

A modded out car may not be as reliable as some stock Ride or a rice that can go to Canada on a single thimble of gas but what can I say no pain no gain.

Well I would have to say a rear wheel drive car with a V-8 is much more fun that any rice. There are so many more good points that I can name off. Suspension, exhaust sound, easy to work on, cheaper(dont have to spend 50Gs to run 13s), looks better (defintly my opinion) and the list goes on check below for more reasons................

BTW you may not have to have a V-8 to go fast but I need one.

Redbird 400,

Your from Texas, you must admit you have some crazy imports down there....I have seen videos of some Texan Civics and Supras. I feel I always have back imports cause they are quite similar small engine and use a turbo to go fast. Besides alot of 3rd gen owners are hicks and believe V8 or nothin

I'll never buy anything other than Chevy. Maybe I'll never own anything other than a third gen. (except a beater) I wish I had my new pics, but here's the link to my page. Has the pics of the '87 and the '91, but the pics of the '91 are before I took off the tint and the bra. sorry my pics are too large.

These "BUY AMERICAN" threads always make me laugh. People type this on their Japanese made computer, listening to music on their Japanese radio, wearing clothing made in Indonesia. Then they get in their car which rides on Goodyears or Firestones - both owned buy foreign companies. It's a global econmy now people try to remember that. GM sells cars around the world, what if those countries stopped buying the "foreign" cars? GM would be laying off people left and right. And speaking of that alot of foreign car companies employ plenty of good ol USA boys to in America to build their cars in America, meanwhile that great icon of American business does everything they can to move more and more production out of the country.

To be proud of your country is one thing, but don't let ignorance blind you.

And yes both of my cars are GM.

Domestic is in my opinion always the best. My family owns 4 cars all domestic between 3 Chevy's and 1 Dodge. I don't believe in supporting foreign economies if I can help it. I used to live in a neighborhood that was over run by poor asian people and darn near everyone of them owned some sort of rice powered vehicle. Even more suprising was the amount of brand new Acura's and Honda's running around in a full Section 8 housing district. And these things had a lot of cash dropped into them to boot, between the 24" wings and 55 gallon drum exhaust tips you could have sworn they were all rich living in some suburb of Beverly Hills or something. I don't know where they got the money for their cars but I would have spent it on a little better housing first. Oh well, I own Domestic and plan to always own domestic. Throaty V8 before whinny 4 banger.

No ****! thats what it's supposed to be called! Well I'll be a son-of-gun...

Now REAL cars! True American cars with true American horsepower. There is nothing like the sounds/feeling of a monster V8 reving at 8000 RPM's next to you! But some people rather listen to a weed eater on a Honda... not me...

My name is... to the beats of Slim Shady
Hi! My name is (who?)... My name is (what)... My name is (sratches)... Rice Burner!

Hi kids, do you like 5 inch tips?,
Wanna see me stick chrome fender flares over each one of my Konigs?
Wanna follow me and do exactly as i did?,
Try NAWS and get your motor ****ed up worse then my life is?
My brain's dead weight, I'm trying to get my head straight,
but i can't figure out which sticker to put over my license plate.
And the mechanic says "Rice Burner you's a crack head "Nu-uh" "Then why's your car dead man its wasted "
Well since age 9 I've wanted an SI so i could put chrome 18's on it and make it run 16.9's.
Got pissed off and ripped all my honda emblems off,
And replaced them with "R" badges so people know im not soft.
I smoke a big bowl of chron, and lay in my lawn,
for longer then it took me to put my altezzas on.
"Come here bastard" "Dude , wait a minute thats a viper dawg!!"
I don't give a ****, i'll just fly by and put my hazards on!!!!!

Have owned 5 new GM cars, but will likely never buy a new one again after the horrible Alero GLS I bought in '99. My first new car was my '89 RS which I still have and love. The post with the "*****" comparo made me laugh thinking of the kid I had at my parts counter Friday, buying a new CV axle for his "SiR" Del Sol "VTEC". Well it turned out the axle wouldn't go into his transaxle! Why? Because SiR VTEC's used a larger input shaft than the BASE model, sticker-laden, ***** he had! When I told him of his car wasn't a VTEC car he almost cried! I tried to comfort him by reminding him a VTEC car is only 2/10's of a second faster in the 1/4 mile so he's doing 17's instead of 16.8's!
BWAHAHAHA!! I could hardly keep a straight face!
As for my next new car? BMW, my only choice.

Several weeks after turning 16, Mom came home with this....

Didn't fall in love with it right away, but I've since vowed to keep this car for as long as it lives.

Long live the Third Gen - and All American Muscle cars

I bought my car right before I turned 16. While most other people at school had their imports. I worked on it and finally got to drive it to school this year for my senior year. I will never sell this car. I just love seeing the ricers face when a sh!tty looking car like mine leaves them from a light like they are going backwards!

I am glad we are all proud of our American manufactured cars but I am afraid this post will promote a flame war. One of the rules of this forum is no bashing of ANY car. Closed.
