First, I would like to compliment iroc2nv, you have showed an amazing amount of restraint with people flaming you to hell. I really applaude your maturity and I hope you stick around. As a few other people have said it's your car and money. Personally, I would not go that route but it is up to you. The one piece that I do like is the rear bumber. It's still basic but I like the vents behind the wheels. Do they offer the bumber seperately? The wheels do look good also.

I would ask others who post to be constructive, making fun of the car does nothing but upset the owner and make others hesitant to post thier pics. I love my camaro, as does iroc2nv, I would be really pissed off if 40 some odd people flamed me about it I think I would be really upset.
]
Sincerely

jim

<---never made fun of him

BUT on the flipside if someone comes in asking for opinions one should be ready to handle negative comments, even if some go overboard.

Personally i think the car is tasteless, something i'd never do to my GTA, but its his $ his car, to each his own

fly89gta, I wasn't talking about everyone just a good majority. I did notice few a comments by memebrs that did not like the car, but yet were still respectful. You were one of the ones who held back and I am sure iroc2nv appreciates it.

BTW, about the street wires sticker is a car audio brand that makes power cable, patch wires, speaker wire, etc.

I usually don't like the 5-spoke design in rims, but I do like those. Also like the stereo, what size of amp is that? What do you have for 6x9's, 4x6's and headunit?

Hmmm...

Beauty being in the eye of the beholder, I am left only asking if the nose clip and wing seem (to anyone else) to interrupt the smoothness of the overall Camaro shape (rather than simply "look ugly"). To me those two additions seem too "abrupt" for sleek cars such as these. Maybe if the car were one color and had more than a stock Z28 hood (to, in a sense, add to the angularity of the total package) the ride as a whole wouldn't raise the ire of some of us. As it stands now it looks like two (three?) different cars depending on which photo is in view. Honestly, when I saw the first pic I didn't think anything was out of the ordinary... but in the photos that followed, the nose clip/wing raised both my eyebrows. Those and what appear to be sponsorship decals for LiveWires.

It's like anything else: Do you like it? That is all that matters. Would I do it? Who really needs to care? Enjoy the car.

But to answer the question posed (after my rant heh), nice rims.

Peace,

Ken

Appreciate it or not, it should not matter. Im not ranking on the guy himself, I just don't favor his car. Post pictures of your car or even yourself on a forum and you will be subject to opinion whether you want it or not. Its up to him to take the input and do with it what he pleases... whether it be to ignore it, or use it as a driving force to " show them " what its made of. Ultimately its up to him. Concerning the comment about the rims, I revoke it, I saw the old rims and I think they were those rims that say " bose" on the center cap. Got em real cheap at a junk yard. You can usually find em at discount tires etc. Don't think those are the same rims. If your really in it for speed though, might consider bigger wheels.

Someone commented that he was only asking for opinions on rims. Reread his first post. It's titled new pics with new rims. He then says "leave comments if you wish". He was asking for people to leave their opinion on the entire project, not just the rims. Why else would he post pictures of the car without rim shots?

Second, the mods you have to your car are so minimal in comparison to alot of people here, that I think you have major kahunas to make a statement like, "ill bet a good $500 that you couldnt even come close unless of course hes got MAJOR mods done". Your car can probably be beat by someone without MJAJOR mods that knows what their doing!

Third, you think $1900 CDN was a good price for those? At that price, they should have been able to at least get you 8" rims instead of 7.5". I'd call the police, cuz you been robbed!

Fourth, you stated you have won car shows with that thing. Were you the only car in your class, or at the show? Bring that car to a show in Minnesota and you'll be laughed right back to Canada! Third gens rarely win a trophy here, let alone a show. I'm not bragging, but I probably have one of the nicer 3rd gens, in Minnesota, that shows his car, in Minnesota, and I have yet to WIN a show. That car of yours must really be something.

Can someone please pass the Soy Sauce!!!!!!!

I think the car would look much better without the red 'extras', such as handles, mirrors, and such (especially the window eyebrow...), and as I've already said before, I'll commend you on having amazing restraint when dealing with some of the less... 'desirables'... on the board. I don't care much for it, but oh well...an enthusiast is an enthusiast, entitled to their own opinions and tastes. I'm glad you're sticking around, and the wheels look great.

heres another question asking yet the same thing.. HOW DOES 300 POUNDS OF EXTRA STUFF ADD TO THE PERFORMANCE OF A CAR? Only "excuse" I hear is that it helps it hook. On that I raise the flag. I keep forgetting that a huge *** POS wing aides to the car hooking up due to the downforce if it.. Umm if I remember right you need a signifigant amount of air moving over the wing to have it make a differnace. As I said before. What the fu<c>ck do I know....

Also, to the people who commented on him asking about opinions on the rims, WHY in g<x>ods name did he post pictures of various parts of the car. Oh wait I know. To show off how FU<x>CKIN UGLY it is.

That car should be sold to someone that respects a car for what it is and the heritage behind it and not what they saw in some silly movie.

Oh BTW the rims look like sh<x>it

Kat

Okay, to all those with the "he's so mature, let him do what he wants to his car" philosophy. Honestly, when you see a Civic with a huge wing, clear tails, stickers galore and a moster body kit, do you think "Well its his car and his money so I commend him!" or "Why? Oh *** Why?". Most people will probably go the second route. I just think too many people try and sound nice. I'm usually one who says "Its your car do what you want", but if you do what you want and it looks that bad, then be prepared to take some **** for it.

Please paint the car. It's nasty ugly. One color with no stripes would be nice even with the exterior changes (at least some people dare to be different)

You win car shows.... You would have been laughed out of any PA car show.

Those rims look cheap, the tires are too short, and I can see the ugly suspension and nasty looking brakes, those parts need to be painted and cleaned under there if they are going to be seen. Its all details that need to be addressed and maybe those rims would look better on there.

Jesus Kat, you PMSing? Take it easy on 'em

Although I like the color scheme... you used too much red and in all honesty its the wrong shade of red.

If you had left the nose, mirrors and the rear bumper cover in black, it'd look worlds nicer... and naturally lose the window strip whatever purpose it serves, its not a good one

The wing I won't say **** about, nor will I mention the body kit.

It is afterall your money, spend it the way you'd like... just keep in mind not everyone will care for it, nor will many people say much nice about it...

Overall, the louvers, door handles, and gfx should stay red... (bastid you took me plans!) ... if the hood still has a latch... lose the hoodpins... otherwise, go find your latch and still lose the hoodpins, they don't serve much purpose on a steel hood.

Again, lose the strip on the window... they make actual red tint if you want it that friggin bad just for that very spot on the window...

The red should be more of a darker, almost blood red, and should only be used sparingly...

too much red looks tacky... there is such a thing as too little, just right, and too much...

you're beyond the too much category

thats just my views on that.

otherwise i like it, granted the wheels are a bit skinny for my liking... but nothing more than that

by the way...

the reason your launches feel better is probably because of better weight transfer due to the wing itself, as well as having new tires that are somewhat grippy ...

there is not a thing on earth that could make your launches better when it comes to a spoiler... unless a rocket comes strapped to it.

Wings are made to create downforce, which means at speeds above 60 or so, the rearend will stick a bit better in corners... like on something like say... a C5R ...

Unless you're launching in a 100mph wind... well... you get the picture....

does your wing serve a purpose other than a place to mount your bike ?

there is a fine line between modding the appearance and making it look tasteless. Personally the wing belongs on a rice rocket, but again its your/his cars. These cars are drag cars, not top speed cars, if guys think that wing help in the 1/4 mile I have some Enron stock to sell ya cheap

He commented over on iroczone.com that he beats Vettes and every other f-body that comes along in races. Here it is:

"i personally think that its a 305 but i have no clue why i am smoking 6spd tpi vettes (and yes they are trying cuz they ask what i have in it after i eat them by like 2 car lengths or more) so i just wanna make sure...IM GOING NUTS! i havent raced the c5 or the z06 yet (dont have the ***** too actually) but the lt1s, and ls1s camaros/firebirds t/a's arent much against me either"

Does it matter what his times are? It's just faster than everybody else!!!:hail:

Hahaha, well the NASA spoiler guys got to stick together....yo. :sillylol:

Your wing does nothing for ur car. Nothing, it does not help with ur downforce because u do not travel at 120mph+ everyday daily. We have stock looking cars because they look good that way. Adding a huge shopping cart wing to ur rear does not make ur car look better or perform better. The only people u look cool too is the other people with wings on the back as well.
