Louvers worth?

Hi folks, I'm brand new to this site. I have a totally stock 84 trans am with ever option available for that year (I think). Its show room new with 30K miles, L69, 700R, 3:73 rear. Heres my question. This car has the metal 3 piece louvers that were purchased from the dealer and installed in 84, they have thye hinge so they can be lifted to clean the window. They are in perfect condition but I don't have a need for them--what are they worth? I am thinking about putting them for sale on E-bay. Did pontiac make these are or they aftermarket? No markings on them and I know the car was delivered withy them installed--I'm guessing dealer installed aftermarket item? Any help is appreciated--Thanks

The DE1 sunshade is a factory item. It would not be uncommon for a dealer to install them later on though.

I find it odd that you feel you dont need them as mine have saved the interior from sun damage and fading.

Look in the back of most 3rd gens, if they have a plastic interior it looks pretty ruff, if its carpeted, it will appear washed out. Not to mention the tops of the rear seats which take most of the heat.

A collectible like yours could use all the prevention against aging

If they are in excellent condition as I assume they are, I would ask $160 - $200 for them.

When I bought MY Camaro I didnt have them. Within a year I sought a set out. They make a HUGE difference on the interior temp of the car. And it does save the sun wear on the interior parts. You can also put stuff in the back aithout everyone seeing what you have. It mased it herder to break into the hatch by covering the huge peice of glass that by itself can be broken quite easily. Just imagine your new stereo or uniforms (assuming the AF in your name meant Air Force) being the subject of a smash and grab. You'd be SOL come inspection time. Just my opinion though, they do take away from the lined a bit but i think they are well worth it.
