Has anyone tinted their own windows?

If so...what brand is best/worst? How hard is it to install?
I am going to tint mine and am trying to decide if I should try to do it myself or pay someone.

I'd pay to have it done! I,ve done it myself on a previous car I had.
It looked good but the film I purchased was not good quality so it was a wast of time & money.
At least getting it done by the pro's you have a warranty, some give life time against bubbles & fade or color change. I rekon youd have trouble doing the rear window.

If someone does it for you........LIFETIME WARRANTY.....

For instance i had 15% tint on my windows.......I wanted Limo tint.......Think i payed for it.......NOPE.....i just stratched the tint and ripped a little off........took it back........and what do you know......got it re-done with limo tint for free.......

You will save money in the long run if you pay someone else.....MAKE sure it is a reputable place and the cheapest is not always the best.....

It usually ends up being a mistake if you do it yourself.

I did it myself.. and I did the rear glass too. I WOULD NOT recommend you try this yourself. It was a pain in the *** from the start. Take it to somebody else and let them fight with it, the curves in the rear are almost impossible to get it to fit right. Side windows, ok maybe.. but the rear don't try it.

Professional = metalized tint = excellent/permanent color holdout.

DIY (autozone, etc... GILA brand) tint = dyed tint = purple crap you see on alot of cars (including my camaro)

End result... there are certain things you shouldn't skimp on and tint is included in this area. Do it once.. do it right...
