Removing Door Molding

Can I remove the strip that runs along the middle of the door, without too much trouble? I worried that the paint undernieth won't match. It's artic white, so I figure there won't be too much color variation. The molding has lots of scuffs on it anyway.
Can I get the sticky residue off with WD40?
Thanks

use fishing line and string it tightly then use a "flossing" motion under the moulding getting as close to the body as you can.
and yes, WD-40 will get the extra residue off.
you may notice a color difference where you peel the mouldings off of.

I just took off my door moldings and now I wish that I hadn't done that. After the strips came off some of the double-sided tape stuck there but i managed to get that off,and here's the b1tch.Being that my car must have beeen repainted before, with several layers of paint and clearcoat, there is now an indenture where the molding was,in the shape of the molding.

Speaking of molding, is anyone else's discolored? I've had my car over a year, only used Zaino on it since I got it, and just about a month ago I noticed my molding turned almost like a yellow color. Its really weird. I thought about taking it off too but I'm worried what it will look like underneith. Anyone know why it might be discolored and if I could fix it?
