Polished vs. Chrome
Need opinions on wether to purchase polished wheels or chrome wheels. Car is a daily driver that will probably see snow and road salt. But chrome looks really good. Does foul weather ruin chrome?

I'd go for polished coz they can be polished up again easy but if your chrome gets rust coming through thats the end of them. Chrome does'nt like to be wet all the time (snow) & salt will rust them real Quick.

That's a tough call. If you don't mind cleanin them once a weed, I'd say chrome. Either way you have to maintain them.

I have chrome rims and you better be ready to buy some polish and start cleaning them at least once a week......
Snow and Salt will HORRIBLY eat through chrome........They'll never look the same.....Polished on the other hand can hold up to the elements......Polished....hands down.......Chrome will get ruined QUICK in salt...

Well, it makes no sense to spend big bucks on chrome if I'm goimg to use the car as a daily driver through all mother nature has to offer. My vette aluminum wheels just need to be polished and wet sanded to give them a brilliant finish, and they are over 20 years old. If I lived in Arizona, chrome would be fine.

a polished rim and a chrome rim have no comparison.........sure salt will get to the rim more so on chrome; but it isn't anything you can't take care of if your dedicated.........these have seen a few years of winter when i was younger, they have a few very minor areas; but it happens.....build your car the way you want it. you can't beat the shine of chrome and i definately wouldn't ceramic coat a rim, if they even do it.

definitely go w/ the polished aluminum, my polished 17" IROC wheels are just as shiny as the chromed 17" IROC wheels. I compared the 2 before I purchased my set from performance wheel outlet. I had new gears & posi installed and also converted my rear drums to 1LE rear disk set up w/ the money that I saved.
