88 Black GTA Needs Help with paint

Hey fellow f car lovers,

I was given a 88 black GTA. The body is perfectly straight. NO DINGS NO DENTS NO PROBLEM RIGHT??????????Wrong!!!!!!!!
The car was left outside for the last three years in the same spot. Never washed or cleaned. The paint is filthy but i can still see that there is nice paint under the filth. How should i go about restoring the life back into the paint. Its got tree sap, dust, grime, and even what appears to be mold. I would prefer making an attempt at saving this paint before i just blow a couple of grand on a paint job. Any suggestions would be great. :hail: You people always have an answer to my questions. I have no doubt youll be able to help this time.

I've found that Korkay cleaner works well, but any type of strong cleaner should work ok. Simple Green, or even a strong concentration of dish detergent. Sponge the car down in the shade and let the soap sit for a while, then sponge it down again. The crap should loosen up enough for you to get it off. After that, take some hand glaze, and do 1 panel at a time. Use some elbow grease. After you do the whole car, if it looks good, wax it. If not, either keep going with the hand glaze or find somebody to buff it.

Wow, mold huh? That's a new one!

After rinsing and washing thoroughly, I'd definitely clay it. Clay works remarkably well even on clean paint, it'll probably do a great job for you. A tip to keep the clay clean is to break off a piece and use it till it gets too dirty, then use another piece. This way the whole bar doesn't get loaded with all the dirt. Good luck.

i wish someone gave me a car .

i think any kinda strong cleaner made for car paint at the local parts store would work in conjuction with a pressure washer (or something with a little more pressure than a hose).
