it's getting so close to 100,000 that it won't matter, because when you hit 100,000 they dont put the mileage on the title anyway. But I guess you do have 9,000 more to go.

I don't know if this will help or not but...

I had a Ford Escort once and it had a cable driven speedo that was broken. I bought a replacement at a junk yard. I tried adjusting it to my actual mileage (less that the junk yard part). I used my electric drill.

You will need to find a small piece of plastic or metal to stick in the square hole in the back of the speedo and then in your drill. That will run your mileage up. (Plus it's fun to watch your drill do 100 mph).

It's been my experience that you can't make the odometer go backward. I took one apart once to try and set it and it never worked again. ($50 bucks down the tube).

I took an aluminum pop rivit and tapped it with a ball peen hammer until it was square and fit in the hole on the back side of the speedo. You can try numerous things, be creative. I guess even a small piece of wood will probably work considering that there is no real force being put on it. You may also have to reverse the drill to make sure it is going the right direction.

Also, I would run mine a little then stop for a few minutes because I was afraid that the speed/friction would mess it up.

Good luck!
